Text Box: Inside this issue:
Text Box: Day in and day out the women of Ward Timber do a lot of work for the company. Out of 98 total employees 12 women work here at Ward Timber. In this issue we will spot light the women at the main office including: Cheryl Savage, Pam Adams, and Ada Gunn.
Cheryl Savage has worked for Ward Timber for 21 years. When asked what she enjoys the most about working here without hesitation she said “The people I work with.”
Cheryl has been married to David Savage for 41 years. They have two 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Their son Stan has 2 boys, Joseph (7) and Sullivan (21) months. Their daughter Tiffany has one son Devon, who is 16. Cheryl’s hobbies are spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower beds and working out. If Cheryl didn’t have to work she would spend her time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
Pam Adams has worked here for 11 years and says she loves being able to boss a bunch of men around. Her sister Cheryl said when she was younger Pam wanted to be a truck driver but fortunately for us her Dad put his foot down and said no.
Women of Ward TimberText Box: Pam and her husband David have been married 37 years and have 2 children, Spud and Regina. Spud is going to college at Louisiana Tech and Regina is a lawyer working in Houston. Pam enjoys working in her flower beds and going out with her husband and dancing. She also loves riding horses and would have one but David, will not let her. For some reason I have a hard time believing that one.
Whenever you walk in the front door the first person you will see is Ada. She has worked for Ward Timber for 7 and 1/2 years and says she enjoys working here because of the relaxed atmosphere.
Ada has been married to Starky for 25 years. They have 4 grand children, Evan 15, Tristan 7, Sebastian 8 and William 6. Her hobbies include working in her flower beds and hand quilting. When she told me she hand quilted I was amazed because these days hand quilting is rare. Ada said she has quilted at least 9 quilts. She would love to volunteer her services for the elderly if she didn’t need to work. Get to know more of the women here at Ward Timber in next month’s newsletter. We will continue our review of all the women who help keep this company running. —LP
